Post-production

Post production is the editing of shots and clips after they have all been put together to create the episode. Post production is usually done to edit colours on a programme. To make is brighter, bolder and more visually appealing and interesting to the viewers. For example in the programme 'Utopia', the makers were aiming for a certain appearance, the comic book look. To achieve this, comic book artists, Munden and colourist Aidan Farrell colour corrected each shot in post-production. They did this to make skies look bluer, suits look brighter and grass appear greener. They wanted the colour to be bolder and more exciting. Vibrant colours are necessary to create more of a non literal feel to the episodes, maybe to remind people that is all based on a comic book and should not be taken as seriously as the subject matter appears. Here are a couple of edited shots from Utopia.
