Framing a shot: Practice with stills

Today in our media lesson we sorted ourselves in to groups of three, to take a range of photos to test how different angles and camera shots work. Here are some of the photos we took:

Close up:

A close up shot is a great way to focus on a specific object or person. It draws the viewers attention to the specific subject so they can focus on the detail and question what this means.

An extreme close up:

An extreme close up is a great way to focus on what specific thing. It means we can't see where this image is set and makes us question what's going on in the film or programme.

An establishing shot:

An establishing shot is a way of the director and producers too present the scene to the audience for the first time. It is usually used to present the town, city, village or general area of wear the rest of the content will take place.
